Dargues Gold Mine MOD3 receives approval from the NSW PAC

10 August 2016

On 10 August 2016, the NSW Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) approved Modification 3 for the Dargues Gold Mine operated by Big Island Mining Pty Ltd and represents the culmination of over 12 months work for RWC and Big Island Mining. The Project Profile provides an overview of the Project, Environmental Assessments and Modifications granted, and can be viewed here.

Once operating, the Dargues Gold Mine will produce around 50,000 ounces of gold a year for approximately five to seven years and provide significant economic benefits to the surrounding communities, the State of New South Wales and Australia.  The Project has been designed to meet strict environmental requirements embodied in the conditions of consent and community expectations.

RWC is grateful for the opportunity to work on this Project and congratulates the entire management, planning and development team of Big Island Mining on the successful determination of Modification 3.

RWC looks forward to continuing our association with Big Island Mining as the Dargues Gold Mine is brought into production and assisting in the preparation of the various management plans and other environmental documentation required by this approval.
